Udupi : A BJP leader jumped into the Udyavar bridge on national highway 66 on Thursday April 25 morning.

It is said, Ashok Ameen (38) from Udyavar parked his two-wheeler near the Udyavar bridge and jumped into the river.

Eyewitnesses claimed that after stopping his motor bike near the bridge, he jumped into the river. The locals immediately passed information to Kaup police. The locals and police together launched a search operation immediately.

Locals say that financial crisis could possibly be the reason for the youth to take a decision to commit suicide.
