Udupi: The recently re- nominated 53 year old Rajya Sabha MP and spokesman of Congress party, whose resignation was demanded by Udupi BJP Yuva Morcha leaders who staged a protest near towns clock tower area on Monday, April 23, has resigned his post and also quit as chair person of Parliamentary committee of AICC, after a video involving him, a profile lawyer, went viral on social, media sites.
In his statements announcing resignation Singhvi said he had informed AICC, President Sonia Gandhi, of his decision to step down, to prevent even the slightest parliamentary disruption. He denied all allegations against him, as baseless and false
The Udupi BJP youth branded him as involved in a sex scandal. Senior BJP leader Mattar Rathnakar Hegde addressed the protest gathering and termed the charge as a serous one. He demanded an answer from the congress party against Singhvi he said BJP wanted the truth in the scandal, of a CD in controversy, to come out. Several BJP Yuva Morcha leaders spoke at the rally near clock tower to seek Singhvi’s resignation as spokesman, and he has obliged the same day .
