Mangalore: The City Centre Mall on Karnad Sadashiva Rao Road opposite Hampankatta in the heart of the city, held a blood donation camp to celebrate 63rd Republic Day on Thursday here.
Chief Fire officer Varadarajan unfurled the Indian Tricolour at he main entrance of the fashionable Mall on the national occasion. He told listeners at the venue that City Centre entertained its customers, while helping the poor in their needs. By organising a blood camp, its is serving one and all as customers, who come here everyday. The blood donation was organised by KS Hegde Medical College and Government Wenlock Hospital. 41 persons of mall staff, tenants and customers gave their blood for saving lives.
Dr. Muralidhar Rao who supervised the camp said that collected blood will go to Wenlock and KS Hegde hospitals, where patients come from distant places for treatment, with matching blood group needed for them. Thus blood camps have been arranged often.
Sebita Shetty, land-owner, Sawood of Mohtisham, and City Centre head Mathew chandy were present at the blood camp.
