Kotekar: A blood donation camp was organised at Beeri Campus of AIMI-MBA dept on Wednesday, Nov 23, calling it “Sanjeevani” (elixir of life), for the 6th year running it the Director, Rev. Denzil Lobo. A complementary medical check-up also was arranged in dental, eye, general health and homeopathic treatment for visitors, who numbered 400.
Dr. Shantharama Shetty, Vice-Chancellor, Nitte university inaugurated the health camp. Sachin Pinto was the first donor of blood. The response was excellent by those who followed him.
Dr. Shetty explained the great services of donating and laid to rest all disbeliefs connected with it. He was happy about the camp and blood donors.
133 persons went for general check-up, 77 for dental, 125 for eye test, and 55 for homeopathic treatment.
Rev. Denzil Lobo expressed gratitude for the presence of Dr. Shetty. Lion K.C. Prabhu and Lion Dr. Jayarama Shetty also spoke on the occasion. A video highlighting blood donation to save a life was shown.
The college chair sang divine service songs. Mr. Sneha by several hospitals such as KMC, AJ, Wenlock and Muller’s.
The camp was so successful that it raised hopes for 2012 in a better way altogether.
