Mangaluru: Several judges, advocates and judicial staff members took part in a blood donation and health check-up camp at the District Court Complex here on Tuesday. The camp was jointly organised by the District Legal Services Authority, Health Department and Mangaluru Bar Association.
The judges and advocates underwent routine examination of blood pressure, blood sugar level and eyesight. Doctors and nursing staff from the Health Department led by district disease surveillance officer B.V. Rajesh did the check-up. Personnel from a private medical college were involved in the blood donation exercise.
Inaugurating the programme, Principal District and Sessions judge K.S. Bilagi, who celebrated his 60th birthday on Tuesday, said blood donation was the noblest act that helps in saving lives of the needy. “You donate blood at regular intervals, but do not make a show of it.”
