Mangalore: DK dt. Deputy Commissioner(DC)and magistrate Dr. N.S. Chennappa Gowda inaugurated on Saturday, January 7 a blood bank at Government Wenlock Hospital as 1061 unit of Physios’ Blood donation, during Physio Week 2012 organised by SK Physio therapy Teachers’ Association.

The DC appreciated the work done by the Association under a gesture of Philanthropy towards neighbours. DC told the members that villagers suffer a shortage of blood during emergency. He asked private hospitals to work with public hospitals to provide blood to patients in any emergency. Such blood received from donors should not be put to commercial use, but should be supplied free to those who live below poverty line, when they need it.

DMO Dr. GM Sangameshwara, M. Ramgopal Shetty of MV Shetty Trust, Lion Famida Ibrahim and blood banker Dr. Zulfikarr were present.
