Mangaluru: A youth went missing after a sand laden boat capsized in river Netravati at Kadavinabali at Pavoor on Wednesday, July 29.

The missing youth Luqman (21) is a resident of Harekala Rajagudde and son of Sharief. However, two others Tanzil and Badruddin were rescued by a local auto driver Iqbal and two others identified as Aziz and Salim safely reached the shore.

It is said that the sand laden boat capsized due to heavy wind that started blowing. The five youth from same family and the incident occurred when they were returning to the shore.

Konaje and Mangaluru rural police personnel arrived along with the fire personnel and launched search operation.

However Luqman  was not traced till Wednesday evening.
