Malpe : A fun boating has turned tragic for a group of 16 people including six members of a family from Doddaballapur when the boat in which they were having a  jolly ride turned tragic. Though everyone who fell int the water were rescued by local fishermen, a two year old child, Hithesh, son of Prasanna Gowda, was not found.

Search for the baby was futile.

It is learnt the boat owned by one Narayana had a capacity to carry 12 people, but still the owner chose to take 16 riksing their lives. Moreover the administration has also banned boating  in view of the impending monsoons. Some of the boat owners have still been carrying out their business illegally despite the DC order banning boating activities at Malpe from May 15 to September 15 due to approaching monsoons and rough sea.  

A case has been registered in Malpe police station against the boat owner.
