Mangalore: Books are exchanged between students while learning at school in a hurry, but in a mortuary, bodies are exchanged as one for the other, in Wenlock Govt. District Hospital, as on Thursday here.
A resident of Bantwal, Ganesh, died in an accident and his body was in the mortuary, where the body of a fisherman, Raju who fell from a fishing boat in to the Sea was also kept.
Relatives of these 2 dead persons came on Thursday, to claim the bodies. After a post-mortem, Ganesh’s body was brought out first by medical staff but Raju’s relatives took away this body, without so much as identification of the person. Ganesha’s relatives realized the exchange of body and arguments started among the 2 groups, and the mortuary staff.Later the mistake was rectified.
