Moodbidri: A body of mid aged man was found inside a gunny bag, under Kaikanjikadapu Bridge in Moodukonaje on Saturday evening.
The gunny bag was found by Shirthady gram panchayat president Latha P Hegde when she had gone to bring back her cows from grazing when she noticed a sack with flies hovering around it. She immediately informed the police as she was suspicious about the sack.
The police arrived at the spot and opened the gunny bag and found a decomposed body of a mid-aged man in it. The police have suspected that the man was killed and put in the sack and thrown from above the bridge which was about 20 feet high. The face and head of the body has severe bruises.
The identity of the deceased is yet to be found. The man is believed to be aged between 45 to 50 years and may have been a daily wager. The body is clothed in saffron lungi and blue striped shirt. The police have suspected that the man might have died about 4 days ago.
