Mangalore : Bollywood actor Sohail Khan will inaugurate the Bhoothanatheshwara Halli Cricket Tournament –II which will be held from May 17 to 20 at Badaga Edapadavu under the auspices of Sri Bhoothanatheshwara Temple and Sri Bhoothanatheshwara Bhajana Mandali, Badaga Edapadavu, Mijar.
The six over rubber ball under arm cricket tournament will be participated bys several teams and so far 50 teams have registered for the event, according to Vijaynath Vittal Shetty, Chief Co-coordinator of the event which will be played at the ground adjacent to the temple.
GR Vishwanath, Karnataka’s renowned veteran cricketer will participate in the valedictory function to be held on May 20 and will distribute prizes to the winners. The tournament carries a total prize money of over Rs 6 lakh, including the grand prize of Sri Bhoothanatheshwara Trophy and Cash award of Rs. 3 lakh. The second prize winners will get trophy and Rs. 1.5 lakh in cash. The third and fourth prize will be Rs. 25,000/- and Rs. 10,000/- There will also be cash awards of Rs. 10,000 for Best All Rounder, Best Batsman and Best Bowler. All teams will have to maintain strict dress code of traditional kachche and turban. Special cash prize of Rs. 15,000 will be given to the Best Dressed Team.
