Alahabad : At least six people in which most of the children were feared dead and almost 15 were reported injured in a crude bomb blast held at a slum area of Allahabad district, media reports say.

According to media reports, the powerful explosion held in a heap where children were playing at Kareli area of Allahabad leaving six persons including most of the minors were dead and 15 were reported injured in which six victims’ condition are very serious.

The serious patients were rushed to nearby government hospitals, police said to media who has reached on the venue.

According to police, the source and nature of explosion is still to be verified but prima facie, it looks like that the explosive material may have been kept in a pile of rubbish near which children were present.

According to an eyewitness the explosion occurred around 4 p.m. and he has seen three injured persons, all were children.

The administration has declared high alert in the city and police has begun the investigation, reports say.
