Mangalore : The book titled ‘Aparoopada Samajasevaka Harekala Hajabba’ authored by Ismath Pajeer was released at a special programme organized by Talent Research Foundation at a school constructed in Harekala New Padpu, Konaje on Nov 27, Sunday.
B. M. Mumtaz Ali, the general secretary of the Islamic Cultural Centre in Pumpwell, released the second edition of the book published by Kantavara Kannada Sangha.
Applauding the writer, Vi. Ga. Nayaka said that the book must be included in the syllabus for the degree students since it is about the person who made a number of sacrifices for social welfare. He said that the state government must confer Hajabba with the Rajyotsava Award.
Delivering the presidential address, Abdul Rauf Puthige, Chairman of Talent Research Foundation said that Hajabba’s wife had also played a great role in his achievements.
Sarojini Naidu National Award winner Guruvappa N. T. Balepuni, the senior reporter of Hosadigantha, who wrote about the achievements of of Hajabba 10 years back; social worker Gayathri Prabhu; Ahmed Bilal, the winner of the national award in a debating competition; and Ranjan Das, who sings for charity, were all honored on this occasion.
Shaikh Mohammed Irfani, the Khateeb of Pajeer, inaugurated the event. Ibrahim Kodijal, the vice president of the Muslim Central Committee, and Wilfred D’Souza, the Konkani writer, were also present.
