Mangalore : A book entitled ‘Vaastavada Vodakugalu – Itihaasada Todakugalu’ authored by Dr. Barkoor Udaya, History Professor, Mangalore University, was released by Shivasunder, senior writer and activist, at a function held in Manglaore on October 6, Saturday under the auspices of Tulunadu Publications and Chintana Pustaka, Bangalore.

In his address, Sunder said the British were mainly responsible for creating a rift between Hindus and Muslims by creating wrong impression regarding the latter through their divide and rule policy.

He said an attempt was made to look at Muslims as foreigners were being made by referring them as invaders and enemy in history text books.

C J Laxmipathy, Lecturer of Sociology from Bangalore, Prof. K Abhaya Kumar, Head of Kannada Department, Mangalore University, Umar U H, Director, Tulunadu Publications, Mangalore, Vasanth Raj of Chintana Pustaka, Bangalore were also present.
