Mangaluru: Rail services on the Sakleshpur-Subramanya route were disrupted on Tuesday after boulders slipped on to the railway track in the taluk.
The boulder slip was noticed at the 86th km between Kadagaravalli and Yedakumeri.
According to sources, a train bound for Bengaluru from Karwar had passed the Yedakumeri station when the incident occurred. As a result, the train, which was to reach Sakleshpur at 3.30 pm, was delayed. It was diverted towards Palakkad to reach Bengaluru.
Officials said the boulders will be cleared by night and train services would resume soon after.
