Mangalore : BJP National Vice-President and former chief minister of Karnataka B S Yeduyurappa assured Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishath activists October 18, Saturday to take up the Charan assault case with Deputy Inspector General of Police, Bangalore.
Yeduyurappa was in the District to attend a Bharatiya Janata Party Convention at Mulki on Saturday.
Addressing the protestors at Kavoor Police Station, Yeduyurappa said that Sub Inspector Umesh Kumar should be suspended for the assault on activist without any reason.
During the protest VHP leader Jagdish Shenava threatened to organise Kavoor Bandh if the department fails to suspend him.
It is learnt that, Bajrang Dal activist Charan was assaulted by SI Umesh Kumar for seeking bail from the Court and refusing to visit the Police Station. After the assault Charan was hospitalized with grievous injuries.
