Kundapur: A buffalo was electrocuted  after it came into contact with live electricity cables when an electric pole came crashing down after it was hit by an LPG tanker  near Mabukala on the NH 66 on the morning of September 15, Saturday.

The tanker was proceeding from Mangalore to Kundapur when the mishap took place. It is learnt the driver was driving in the wrong direction. The electricity cables were also low lying.

Locals complained that despite their bringing the matter to the notice of the Electric Board, so far it has not taken steps to see that the low lying cables were removed.
