Puttur: A LPG transporting bullet tanker overturned at Banottu in Uppinangady on National Highway 75, on Monday.

The tanker was travelling from Mangaluru to Bengaluru with liquid petroleum gas in it.

Tamil Nadu origin driver Lokanath (39) escaped with minor injuries in the accident.

Fire and Emergency service staff rushed to the spot soon after receiving information. Fortunately there is no leakage of the gas from the tanker.

The incident caused heavy traffic jam on the highway and the vehicles were redirected via Puttur.

Uppinangady police arrived at the spot and took the situation under control.
