Mangalore : Members of the Bunder Shramika Sangha took out a protest march from old port to the Mangalore City Corporation office demanding a solution to the longstanding problems faced by the old port area, due to lack of several basic amenities.

Addressing the protestors, LL Mohandas Prabhu, President of the Old Port Kirana and Sagatu Vyaparasthara Sangha said the road from old municipal office to the port gate was in a bad state  and added labourers were finding it difficult to pass through this road with their push carts. Many have even suffered fractured due to the bad road, he said.

A Memorandum was submitted to the MCC Commissioner Harish Kumar  on the  occasion. The Commissioner said the MCC was aware of the problem and said tenders have been invited to take up the road works.
