Udupi : Bunt’s Yane Nadavara Sangha condemn the issue of Vanitha Shetty, who was allegedly stopped from having food at Udupi Sri Krishna Math, recently due to caste-based discrimination (Pankti Bheda), said Kurkalu Dinakar Shetty, vice-president, Bunt’s Yane Nadavara Sangha.
Speaking at the press meet held at Sri Sayi Palace on April 21, Monday, he said that the Bunts community have always supported and encouraged the developmental work of Udupi Math, but now they are disrespecting the community and showing caste discrimination against us.
He also said that the bunts community is not questioning about the rules and traditions of Udupi temple, but just condemn the situation and insult faced by the victim.
Shetty said that if the temple authority agrees to apologize for the incident and assured to stop such practices in the coming days, then the Bunt’s community will drop the issue, or else will stage a state-level protest against such ill practice.
Community members Uday Shetty, Dinesh Shetty, Shashi Shetty, Nityananda Shetty, Pratap Shetty, Vishwanath Shetty, Gopal Shetty, and Somanath Shetty were present.
