Mangaluru: A burqa-dressed woman made off with gold weighing around two and a half sovereigns during a marriage function held at a private hall in Hampankatta here on Wednesday, July 24.

Her act was caught on CCTV camera installed in the hall.

The woman is seen removing a gold chain and a bangle worn by a two-year-old before walking away from the marriage hall. The value of the stolen gold is estimated at Rs 49000.

A complaint in this regard was lodged at Pandeshwar police station.

The police have collected the footage and investigating the incident.
