Bantwal : Passengers of a private bus from Vittal to Mangalore had a miraculous escape when the bus swerved to the right and leaned on to the trees of a plantation at Kadumutt in Kolnad on July 7, Sunday.

The mishap took place when the bus driver sensing danger from an oncoming Bolero vehicle took the bus to the extreme right when its tyres got stuck in the potholes making the bus lean.

The passengers of the bus thanked the trees for rescuing them as if not the trees, the bus would have landed inside the plantation and caused casualties.

Traffic on Vittal-Salettur route was disrupted for sometime owing to the mishap.
