Mangaluru : A businessman commits suicide by hanging in a lodge here on Sunday December 19.

The deceased has been identified as Krishna resident of Kanapade.

Krishna was found hanging in a room at a lodge in BC Road on Sunday.

Sources said that he ended his life due to financial crisis. He reportedly suffered heavy losses in his  ice cream business and was under heavy debt. He also ran a club in Bantwal.

In a death note found in his pocket, it was written that he was taking the extreme step as he was unable to repay his mounting loans, sources said.

Bantwal town police arrived at the spot and registered a case.
