Udupi: The district court here has found all three of the main accused in the murder of businessman Bhaskar Shetty as guilty of the crime and pronounced life sentences to them.

Those declared guilty by the court are Bhasker Shetty’s wife Rajeshwari Shetty, son Navaneeth Shetty and astrologer Niranjan Bhat. Another accused Raghavendra who was facing charges of destroying evidence has been acquitted.

Shetty was murdered and his dead body was burned in a homa kunda (ritual fireplace) in 2016.

They have been convicted now and will be serving life terms While the fifth accused driver Raghavendra was acquitted.
