Udupi : Udupi district Deputy Commissioner Muddu Mohan said that all the arrangement for the Parliamentary re-elections in Uppinakudru (West) polling station coming under Byndoor Assembly are in place.
Speaking at a press meet on April 28, Monday, DC said that Byndoor segment which comes under Shimoga Parliamentary constituency had developed a snag in the Electronic Voting Machine during the election held at the Government Model Higher Primary School on April 17.
Although the EVM was replaced and the polling registered 74.38 per cent, but since the votes polled in the first EVM will not be able to be counted, the Election commission had ordered to conduct re-election.
The constituency comprises a total of 1,167 voters including 629 women and 538 men under this polling station.
The district administration has made elaborate security arrangements and has banned sale of liquor till April 29 midnight.
