Bangalore: Only this week on March 27, Anwar Manippady, president of state minority communities Commission, had thrown an “accusations” bomb in Vidhana Soudha on the misappropriations made by several Muslim leaders.
There are like CM Ibrahim and Roshan Ali Baig, who looted Wakf properties(according to him), when they were in power, citing that MLA N. Harris had encroached upon 10.14 acres of land in the name of his mother, wife and close relatives, while former Union minister, C.M. Ibrahim, in the name of a Dargah(tomb), had alienated 44,000 square feet of land to be transferred to himself, in his(Anwar’s) report submitted to Chief Minister DVS Gowda in CM’s office.
The report was quite bulky, with over 5000 pages.
Congress leader C.M. Ibrahim on Saturday, in a Press meet, disputed the charges made against him in the report, in a shock.
He explained that he did not take over any Wakf property in 1975 as sated in the Anwar report, as he was only 18 years old then, and had not got into politics at that young ago.
As such, how could he misappropriate any Wakf property, as alleged, since the scam related to 1975 as per the report.
Ibrahim accused Anwar of bad health and not being in his(AM) proper condition, and needed medical help, he joked. He would soon file a defamation case against Anwar, he announced.
If any charge is proved he would retire from politics, Ibrahim specified. It is not clear if Anwar Manippady is in a similar situation ex-Lokayukta Justice N. Santosh Hegde, in reporting about some missing Wakf properties, as in mining.
