Udupi: Bangalore-based painter C.V. Shruthi, had a solo exhibition of her works at Vibhuti Art Gallery of Chitrakala School of Art inaugurated by Ratnavathi Baikadi former member of Tulu Sahitya Academy in city, on Thursday morning.
Ratnavathi in a speech said that art is a gift from God, and everyone cannot master the Various art forms, modern or classical, cubic or abstract.
She added that India had Won international recognition in view of our rich art forms in Kerala, Rajasthan and Karnataka. However, one is sad to observe that parents hardly encourage children to pursuer interest in arts, fearing a low performance in the academic circles.
P.N. Acharya a former member of state Art Academy, was chief guest on the occasion. He felt that there are fewer women artists than men, and they could avail of Sate facilities easily.
Veteran artist, K.L. Bhat, Presided. Raghavendra Amin and Rajendra Trasi were present.
