Bangalore: The state govt has requested the Governor not to allow criminal proceedings against CM Yeddyurappa on certain alleged land scams and nepotism episodes. The Cabinet urged H.R.Bharadwaj to drop proceedings if any, to make CM stand on trial.
The Governor is reported to have granted sanction to such a legal prosecution to a forum of state lawyers on CM’s past land scams. R.Ashoka is also roped in to face the judiciary.
To protect the CM, the Cabinet held an emergency meeting today. The action to prosecute CM would not go on judicious lines, the GoM stated in an appeal to Bhardwaj. There were 93 files on scams and Jan.20 (tomorrow) was the deadline for submission to governor.
