Bengaluru : Revenue Minister Mr R Ashoka participated in the cabinet sub-committee meeting in Vidhana Soudha on Thursday to discuss on the recommendations made by the Karnataka Administrative Reforms Commission. During the meeting, he discussed the possibility of abolishing the posts of four regional commissioners and instead establishing a regional commissionerate at Bengaluru. Among the other issues that were discussed included merging of neighbourhood planning authorities with BMRDA, bringing pension schemes of various departments under revenue department pension scheme, abolishing the posts of the vacant junior assistant posts in revenue department and merging of engineering departments of panchayat raj and drinking water divisions at district and taluk levels.

Awareness is key to fight Covid, said Revenue Minister Mr R Ashoka. Speaking after a food kit distribution programme at Banashankari second stage on Thursday, the minister said that he and his team members have been distributing kits for the last 30 days. “We have been taking up many pro-people initiatives like funding women to become entrepreneurs, distributing food kits to all the communities. We have also provided loans without interest for the people who deserved it. My only goal is to always stand with people. We are also providing nutritious food kits to kids.”
