Mangaluru : Jyothindra Bhai Mehta, national president, Sahakar Bharathi and chairman, National Federation of Urban Cooperative Banks and Credit Societies Ltd inaugurated Campco branch at Rajkot on Monday.
Speaking after inauguration Mehta said that Campco was a source of light to lakhs of areca nut, cocoa and rubber growers. He appreciated the co-operative for supplying quality areca nuts into Gujarat market and thereby expanding its services throughout the nation. Hailing Campco as a cooperative that pays 100% tax to government, he requested the traders to strengthen this cooperative.
S R Satishchandra, president, Campco, who presided over the function averred that Campco with its sincere efforts was protecting interest of areca nut, cocoa and rubber growers. Along with maintaining quality, the cooperative is focused on meeting the requirement of the customers, he said, while thanking the Gujarati community in general and the traders of these horticultural crops in Rajkot in particular for their earnest cooperation in facilitating trade in these crops.
Prime Minister Narendra, Modi during his October 29 visit to temple town of Dharmasthala, had made a reference to the ties that Dakshina Kannada district always had with his home state of Gujarat vis-a-vis areca nut. “I remember delegation from Campco coming to meet me in Gandhinagar when I was CM,” the PM had said.
Sri.M.Suresh Bhandary, Managing Director-CAMPCO, Sri.Shankaranarayana Bhat K, Vice-President-CAMPCO, Suresh C.Kotak, Sales Promotion Agent-Rajkot and Branch Manager, CAMPCO Ltd. Rajkot were also present on this occasion.
