Kasargod: The Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Co-operative Limited (CAMPCO) will organize ‘Kisan Mela’ and a mega exhibition ‘Centenary Expo’ from December 10-13 at CPCRI, Kasargod.
‘Kisan Mela’ is being organized by ICAR – Central Plantation Crops Research Institute, Kasargod on the occasion of their centenary celebrations. Honorable Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Radha Mohan Singh will inaugurate the event, stated a press release.
KALPA-Dark Chocolate, a Swadeshi Product manufactured by CAMPCO in association with ICAR-CPCRI will also be released on the occasion the Minister. KALPA is said to be made using caramelicious palm sugar derived from the sap of coconut blossoms produced with the help of technology imparted by ICAR-CPCRI using Cocoa Sap Chiller Technology.
It digests slowly and thus causes milder upswings in blood sugar due to its low glycemic index and provides stable energy. The chocolate is said to be rich in potassium, magnesium, iron and other minerals, Vitamin E, B and C including dietary fibers.
