Mangalore : The Campus Front of India took out a rally in Mangalore on October 24, Thursday demanding a CBI probe into the Sowjanya rape and murder case. However, when the protestors tried to barge into the DC office compound, police had to intervene and detain them.
Earlier, the rally was taken out from near University College to Hampankatta. Later the protestors tried to gate crash when they were detained and taken away from the place.
Earlier during the protest meet, CFI leaders stongly alleged that the police were trying to destroy evidences in the case and demanded a CBI probe.
He criticized the police for arresting a mentally ill man despite Sowjanya’s parents suspecting some other people in the case.
Mohammed Iqbal, CFI state president, Mohammed Thufail, state committee member, Mohammed Tafseer, state secretary, Sanaulla, district president and several others took part in the protest.
