Mangalore : Her name is  Celine D’Souza, She is 56. It has been a year since  she was diagnosed with oral cancer. Since then her life has been shattered and she is in dire need of financial help to cure her of the dreaded disease.

Celine, a resident of Faisalnagar in Bajal Veeranagar, had fainted  in the house three years ago. She remained lying on the floor till the evening until neighbours  spotted her.  Doctors  confirmed that she had a stroke then.

Celine has two  sons. If one son runs an auto on hire, another son Naveen had died in a road accident near Nantur. Celine is a widow and her husband Gilbert D’Souza had died when their children were young.

Though the Father of the local church has visited her, not much of financial help has come, says Maria D’Souza, elder sister of Celine who takes care of her.

Celine is undergoing treatment at Fr Mullers Hospital and Dr Ashraf who treats her has said  the treatment cost would be Rs 5 lakhs to Rs 6 lakhs, says Maria D’Souza while speaking to Mega Media News.

Maria lives in Garopdipalla in Belpuni. She says her son who left to Israel for a job a had come only once and there is no information about him. Maria’s husband  has lost his mental balance following a recent accident. Despite all her problems, she is taking care of her  younger sister and hopes for some aid.
