Mangalore: Capt. Ganesh Karnik, MLC was felicitated on behalf of the Captain Ganesh Karnik Abhinandana Samithi at Town Hall in Mangalore on September 16, Sunday. Harikrishna Punaroor, former Kannada Sahitya Parishat president, Sharavu Raghavendra Shastri, A J Shetty and P Raghunath Hegde inaugurated the programme.

Noted artist Sayyed Asif Ali drew a portrait of Gangesh Karnik on the occasion.

Responding to the warm felicitation, Capt Karnik expressed his gratitude to all those who encouraged and patronized him and help him achieve what he was today. He also exhorted the younger generation to evince interest in politics and emphasized the need to encourage young talents.

Cultural programme by presented by different teams on the occasion. A Yakshagana ‘Narakasura Moksha was also presented.
