Mangalore : In a shocking incident, a Tata Indica car caught fire at the parking bay near the Mangalore International Airport Terminal on October 30, Thursday evening.
Reportedly, the car belonging to M/s Sri Ventures bearing registration No. KA 03 ME 6237 was on its way to the Airport when it caught fire.
As the driver of the car, Raja Sheik noticed the smoke emitting from the bonnet, immediately stopped the car on the road towards the parking bay and ran out of the car and saved his life. Luckily there was no other passenger in the car.
After getting the information, MIA fire force put off the fire within a short time and avaoided a big disaster since there were a que of cars behind the car that caught fire.
It is learnt that, Raja Sheik had come to the Airport to pick his owners daughter from the airport who was expected to arrive in the evening flight.
The Airport police are conducting an investigation on the request of Airport Authority.
