Mangalore: An International Cardio-Diabetes Conference (ICDC) 2012 was organized by the Fr Muller Medical College at its Decennial Hall on September 22, Saturday. Oscar Fernandes, Rajya Sabha Member, inaugurated the conference.
Speaking on the occasion emphasized the need for individuals to maintain a healthy life style for a healthy heart. On the issue of shortage of doctors in the nation, Oscar said the government was thinking in terms of starting more medical colleges.
Dr C Manjunath, a renowned cardiologist was felicitated on the occasion. Responding to the felicitation he said in India a lot of people die due to non-communicable diseases rather than communicable diseases. He also regretted the fact that more youngsters are prone to heart disease and diabetes in the recent times.
Director of FMMI Fr Patrick Rodrigues presided over the function.
