Mangaluru : The ship M V Princess Miral which was in distress has fully sank in the Arabian Sea, near Talapady’s Bhattapadi on June 12, Thursday.
The ship was on way to Lebanon from Tianjen in China and had submerged after water entered into it near the New Mangalore Port two days ago. 15 Syrians on board this vessl were rescued by the Coast Guard earlier.
A Singapore based private agency is now contemplating on the measures that need to be taken to extract the fuel from the sunken ship. A meeting was also held between the district administration, Coast Guard and other officials concerned to discuss this issue.
It was pointed out that extra caution need to be taken to ensure there was no oil spillage from the ship.
