Mangalore: The Karnataka Komu Sauharda Vedike organised an Aikyatha Samavesh at the Loyola Hall of St Aloysius PU College in Mangalore on December 29, Saturday to mark its completion of ten years.
Inaugurating the convention Dr Anand Teltumbde, Marxist leader and civil rights activist said communalism and casteism are two sides of the same coin. He added it was casteism was responsible for the growth of communalism in the nation.
Continuing, he said the RSS made good use of the communalism agenda to establish its existence in the nation. Teltumbde also said inter-religion marriages would go a long way in curbing communalism in the society.
The function was presided over by AK Subbaiah, former minister. A book named “Komu Sauharda Vedikeya Sauharda Chaluvali” was released by
Prof Sabeeha Bhoomigowda, Professor in Mangalore University.
Gowri Lankesh, Editor of Lankesh Patrike, KL Ashok, State General Secretary of Komu Sauharda Vedike, Vasudev Bolur and others were present on the occasion.
