Bangalore : Acting upon the recent Supreme Court directive, CBI officials in Karnataka, on the afternoon of May 15, Tuesday, filed an FIR against former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation)Act 2010 and under 120 B, 409, 419 sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Yeddyurappa has been named accused number one (A1) in the FIR.
Even Yeddyurappa’s sons Vijayendra and Raghavendra, son-in-law Sohan Kumar and Praveenchandra have been name co-accused. Sources also said cases have been filed even against South West Mining Company.
Presently, BSY is in his Racecourse Road residence in Bangalore and has not yet applied for anticipatory bail.
A special team of nine senior officials led by Delhi CBI ADGP has been formed to probe this case. The preliminary report regarding the filing of FIR is expected to be submitted to the CBI Special Court in Bangalore on May 16, Wednesday.
