New Delhi: The CBI is expected to begin its probe into the allegations against BS Yeddyurappa in the mines scam, from May 15, Tuesday.
The Supreme Court on May 11 Friday had ordered a CBI probe against Yeddyurappa as per the recommendations of the CEC for a CBI probe or by a probe from an independent agency.
A CBI officer on condition of anonymity said the CBI has already received copies of the Supreme Court orders and that investigation would be done with regard to the donations made to the trusts run by Yeddyurappa’s family members from the mining companies.
The CBI in its ruling had said that it had to inevitably intervene to uphold the law of the land when the state government failed to curb illegal mining.
