Bellary: A CBI team of investigators today went to Bellary where the BJP ministers of Tourism and Revenue, the Reddy Brothers, are alleged to be running illegal iron ore excavations and exporting the raw material abroad, accumulating huge unaccounted money in crores of rupees since many years. The CBI team visited the mines and checked the on goings today.
CBI-SP Venkatesh, NMDC officer Mukherjee, Mines and Geology dept., officials were in the team of 15 visitors from morning till evening, covering the company activities in mining exports.
They visited the Lease area belonging to Minister G.Janardhana Reddy. They surveyed and made enquires about how much mining of the ores in each mine had been done and the quantity as also the quality of ores in various mines, it is stated.
Central Govt. sources said that a close attention is paid to the large scale, mining work undertaken by the Reddys in Andhra borders illegally, all these years watched by Andhra High Court which is examining complaints received against the Reddys.
