Bellary : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday raided the homes of two close associates of former Karnataka Minister G Janardhana Reddy in Bellary.
The CBI sleuths from Hyderabad seized several documents, reports said.
The two aides are Gurulinge Gowda, Chairman of the Bellary Urban Development Authority (BUDA) , and Gonal Rajasekhara Gowda, a panchayat member.
G Janardhana Reddy, who was accused of running an illegal mining empire with his brother Karunakara Reddy, was arrested along with his brother-in-law by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday last and taken to Hyderabad by the CBI where they were later jailed.
Reddy was arrested after the federal investigating agency raided his house in Bellary.
Janardhana Reddy’s brother-in-law Srinivas Reddy, who is the managing director of Obulapuram Mining Corporation (OMC) owned by the Reddy brothers, was also arrested from Bangalore.
The CBI recovered several crores of rupees and gold from the house of Janardhana Reddy.
The Reddy brothers are members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
