Bangalore : The CBI has revealed the possibility of arresting former CM Yeddyurappa by stating that there was a need to take Yeddyurappa into custody in the case of the suspicious land dealings with South West Mining Company of the Jindal group.
The CBI on Friday filed its objection to the anticipatory bail plea submitted by Yeddyurappa, and his sons BY Raghavendra, BY Vijayendra and son-in-law Sohan Kumar in the CBI special court. In the six page objection signed by CBI Investigation Officer Biswajith Das, it was clearly stated that “ It is inevitable to take Yeddyurappa into police custody and interrogate him.”
It further said “ As this is a serious case involving huge funds, the investigation team needs to elicit some information which is known only to Yeddyurappa and this is possible only when he is taken into police custody.”
The CBI meanwhile has also requested the court to order that all accused be present in the court during hearing.
The case was adjourned for Tuesday after the judge directed legal counsel for Yeddyurappa to file objections if any to the appeal of the CBI seeking presence of the accused in the court during hearing.
