Belthangady : The three-members CBI team from Chennai arrived at Beltangady on Sunday March 23 to investigate Sowjanya’s death case after one-and- half years.

Sowjanya was found raped and murdered near Dharmasthala in October 2012, The team of CBI visited the spot, where girl’s body was initially found, at Pangala in Dharmasthala. Also the CBI team met Sowjanya’s parents.

After a year of investigation by the CID, the case was handed over to CBI in November last year. The team will begin the investigation from Monday March 24.

Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi, Sri Esha Vittaldasa Swamiji of Kemar Math,MLA Vasanth Bangera and Shakuntala Shett, and even Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade also requested the government urge CBI probe.
