Mangaluru: The, CCB police on Saturday September 19 arrested Kishore Aman alias Kishore Shetty allegedly for possessing drugs.
One more person identified as Aqeel Nausheel (28), a resident of Suratkal, had also been arrested for possessing MDMA (methylene droxy methamphetamine), which is banned as it is harmful for the health.
Kishore Shetty Kulai resident, a well-known dancer was among the top 10 participants in season 2 of ‘Dance India Dance’ television reality dance competition on Zee TV.
Later he aslo starred in the Hindi movie ABCD.
“The CCB police arrested the accused this morning. They had brought the drugs from Mumbai and were trying to sell it in Mangaluru,” the commissioner said.
The police seized MDMA, a Bajaj Discovery bike, and two mobile phones, altogether worth Rs 1 lakh
Aqeel was working abroad as a safety officer. He returned here last year and used to buy drugs from cities like Mumbai and Bengaluru and sell it here. The other accused, Kishore Aman Shetty, is a well-known dancer and choreographer who had won prize in the Dence India Dance TV reality show and acted in HIndi movie. He also bagged prize in a dance copettion in Suvarna Kannada channel.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of police commissoner Vikash Kumar, by CCB inspector Shivaprakash, R Naik, economic narcotics inspector Ramakrishna, CCB PSI Kabbalraj and others.
The police have asked people having any information about drugs peddling in the city to convey the same to police control room 100/0824-2220800 and share whatever information they have. The identity and other details the informers would be kept confidential, the police commisisoner said.
