Mangaluru: The Central Crime Branch sleuths have arrested Mohammed Mansoor (38) of Adyapady for his alleged involvement in seven cases of cattle theft and 10 other criminal cases.
According to a press note, Mansoor was allegedly involved in the theft of two cows from a house in Moodu Maarnadu village near Moodbidri on the night of March 13.
Following the theft, the villagers followed the culprits in a car.
The culprits reportedly broke the headlights of the car and fed away with the cows in their vehicle after slashing the villagers with sharp weapons. The release said that apart from theft of cattle near Moodbidri, Mansoor was allegedly involved in two cases each of cattle theft reported in Bajpe police station and in Surathkal police station respectively in Mangaluru.
He was an accused in a case of cattle theft reported in Ajekar police station limits in Udupi.
The police said that he was also accused in a case of dacoity registered in Huliya Police Station of Tumkur district, two criminal cases in Somwarpet police station in Kodagu district and two criminal cases in Kushalnagar police station limits of Madikeri district.
