Mangaluru: The CCB police have arrested two Ganja peddlers near Surabhi Hotel, Bejai Kapikad here on Thursday, February 16.
The arrested have been identified as Abdul Ansad C H (27), a resident of Manjeshwar, originally from Bantwal, and Uday Kumar Rai (30) from Yekkur, presently residing in Kasargod.
As per credible information from reliable sources, on wednesday the CCB police raided a place near Surabhi Hotel, and arrested two persons who were selling Ganja.
The police seized 5 Kg Ganja, three mobile phones and worth Rs 1.6 lakh. During raid, the accused revealed that the Ganja was purchased in Idukki, Kerala and brought to Mangaluru.
The accused Uday Kumar Rai is involved in various crimes including 6 Ganja related cases filed in Panambur, Barke and Bajpe police stations, cases have also been filed in the state of Kerala.
Police commissioner Chandra Sekhar, DCP Law and order Shantharaju and DCP Crime and Traffic Dr Sanjeev Patil guided the operation. CCB Inspector Sunil Y Nayak, PSI Sham Sundar and team carried out the raid.
