Mangaluru : The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have arrested three persons allegedly involved in creating fake documents and using fake vehicle registration numbers.

The accused are Naveen Noronha (41) from Ulaibettu, Vincent Sequeira (59) from Bendoor, and Vincent Mascarenhas from Neermarga.

According to the CCB sleuths stopped a city bus on Route 3B at Moodshedde and found the registration number to be fake. During questioning, Noronha said he had purchased the bus and used the registration number of another vehicle.

He is said to have got the chassis number of the bus changed at the workshop of Sequeira at Bhagwan Mahaveer Junction. On Noronha’s direction, Mascarenhas created fake documents and used fake registration numbers for two trucks and a earth mover, police sources said.

The police said investigation was on into the alleged involvement of the trio in taking loans from financial institutions by using fake vehicle documents.
