Mangaluru : The CCB police have arrested the main accused Satish alias Sachu alias Satish Soorinje (30) of Katipalla in connection with murder of businessman and BJP activist Keshava Shetty here on February 4.

Keshava Shetty  hacked to death at Soorinje Kote on January 6. The police team led by Inspector Valentine D’Souza detained the accused from Meltapady. He was involved in eight other criminal cases including murder and murder attempt, police sources said.

Police had already arrested Shobhi alias Shobharaj, Yuvaraj alias Appu, Krishna, Bharath and Lithesh Shetty in connection with the incident, but Satish had been absconding since the incident.

It is said, Satish and another accused Lithesh had a personal grudge against Shetty for the financial assistance with them. He is also involved the shoot-out near Ballalbagh targeted at Vijayendra Bhat in 2014.

Satish was wanted in connection with attempt to murder at Shibaroor in 2010, and also accused in murder of Manikantha of Suratkal in 2012.
