Mangaluru: The CCB police raided a house near Kotekar Beeri on May 1, leading to the arrest of two individuals who were allegedly selling large quantities of banned MDMA drug to college students and the public. The accused had been procuring the drug from Bengaluru with the intention of making profits by selling it in Mangaluru.
The police confiscated various items from the drug peddlers, including banned MDMA drug valued at Rs 9 lakh, a digital scale, a black Toyota Camry car worth Rs 6 lakh, a blue Techno mobile phone worth Rs 10,000, a white Realme 11 Pro mobile phone worth Rs 30,000, a blue iPhone 13 Pro worth Rs 40.000, a dark blue Nokia mobile worth Rs 1000, and cash amounting to Rs 32,800. The total value of the confiscated goods is estimated at approximately Rs 16,13,800.
The arrested individuals were identified as Mohammed Ishan (35), residing at 5-5 Darga Road, Basthi Padpu, Ullal, and Jafar Sadhik (35), residing at Akkarakere, T C Road, Ullal.
Jafar Sadik has nine criminal cases pending against him, including charges of selling Ganja, assault, attempted murder at Mangaluru town police station, and theft at Kushal Nagar police station limits, Kodagu district.
Mohammed Ishan faces a pending case of selling MDMA drugs at Konaje police station limits.
The operation was carried out under the leadership of Mangaluru CCB unit assistant police commissioner Geeta Kulkarni, with the involvement of CCB unit officers and staff, under the directions of DCPs Siddarth Goel and Dinesh Kumar, and with guidance from police commissioner Anupam Agarwal.
